Commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer has been named exclusive leasing representative for the Hearst Tower, a 972,000 square foot, 46-story trophy office tower in the central business district of Charlotte.  The building is owned by Parkway Properties, Inc. (NYSE: PKY), who recently purchased it from Bank of America.  “Hearst Tower is one of the most recognizable assets in the Southeast, and is located in the heart of Charlotte’s CBD,” says Mark Holoman, Senior Vice President in Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer’s Charlotte office.  Holoman, who will lead the leasing assignment, continued, “The quality of the asset, combined with the location, amenities, and the architectural appeal of the building, provide a tremendous opportunity for both existing and prospective tenants.  We are thrilled to have been selected as part of the team.”

Parkway Managing Director, Bryan Howell commented, “The acquisition of Hearst Tower is a significant positive step as we continue to transform the Company.  It is a compelling real estate opportunity – a trophy building, with a stable tenant base, in a submarket with improving fundamentals.  We are excited to expand our relationship with Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer and look forward to a productive partnership in Charlotte.”
