August Transactional Volume In Excess of $305 Million | YTD Volume Exceeds $992 Million

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer  is on track to exceed 2012’s record transactional volume of $1.15 billion.  Through August 2013 year-to-date volume is more than $992,600,000.  The firm’s ten Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina offices completed 157 lease transactions totaling 1,643,020 square feet with a transactional value of over $305 million during the month of August.   Office building transactions of 857,585 square feet accounted for the largest amount of space leased.  Industrial and retail leases amounted to 567,193 and 218,242 square feet respectively. 

Major lease transactions included:

  • Travelers lease in Richmond, VA; TroutmanSanders renewal in Richmond, VA
  • Huntington Ingalls Industries lease in Newport News, VA
  • Stanley, Inc renewal in Charleston, SC; Ernest Packaging and MedLine Industries in the Raleigh, NC area

In addition, Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer reported 28 sale transactions in the month of August totaling over one million square feet and over $44,000,000 in sales volume.  The sales included the former Mazda distribution facility in Richmond, Enterchange at Meadowville in Colonial Heights, VA, Summerville Mini-Warehouses in South Carolina, and a Jamison Commerce Center building in Covington, VA.
